Dr. Jose Rizal

            Dr. Jose Rizal was born in calamba laguna June 19, 1861 Wednesday near midnight, after 3 days Rizal was baptized by Rev. Rufino Collantes, his god father was Rev. Pedro Casanas. His name Jose was came from St. Joseph, his complete name was Jose Protacio Rizal Mercado y Alonso Realonda, Rizal have 10 siblings named Saturnina, Paciano, Narcisa, Olympia, Maria, Lucia, Josefa, Trinidad, Soledad and Concepcion. Rizal is the lucky seven in a family of eleven. His father is Mr. Francisco Mercado Rizal an educated farmer and mother is Teodora Alonzo Realonda.

            Jose Rizal is a sick and frail child and because if that his uncles named Manuel, Jose, and Gregorio taught him many things to improve his physical strength and taught him how to paint, sketch and swim etc… in his days in ateneo were he have many fights against his fellow classmates all of what his uncles taught him helped him to fight against his classmates, in the age of 15 and a student in ateneo he remembered his beloved town. Accordingly he wrote a poem Un Recuerdo A Mi Pueblo (In Memery of my Town). And as the time past by Rizal wrote many poems that became an inspiration of many Filipino citizens. Jose Rizal is our national hero because he fought for our freedom against the Spaniards.
